Maintaining Your Credential in "Good Standing"
You may use the CISSP from this day forward, subject to the (ISC)2 Logo Guidelines (www.isc2.org/logo-usage) - as long as your certification remains in good standing. You can remain in good standing by meeting periodic recertification requirements, such as:
- Adhering to the (ISC)2 Code of Ethics (www.isc2.org/ethics);
- Submitting your Annual Maintenance Fees (AMFs) upon receipt of your annual invoice; and
- Completing and submitting the required number of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. For more information, see the CPE Guidelines (www.isc2.org/cpe-policies) on the (ISC)2 Member Website.
Your CISSP is valid for a period of three years. The three year certification cycle begins on the first day of the next month. You may not claim CPE credits for activities prior to the beginning of your certification cycle.
At the end of each three-year certification cycle, if the above requirements are met, your CISSP certification will be renewed for a subsequent three-year certification cycle. When your requirements are met, our system will automatically renew your certification near the end of the month in which it expires and you will receive a new ID card and certificate bearing the expiration date of your next certification cycle.
(ISC)2 Member Website Access
All (ISC)2 certified members have secure access to the (ISC)2 Member Website, where you can find information on all of the information described above. It is there that you can also maintain your personal information, pay your AMFs, and view and submit your CPE credits.
In order to access the (ISC)2 Member Website, you should log on to http://members.isc2.org with your primary email address and the password you created during website registration.
Ensure You Receive Important (ISC)2 Emails Regarding Your Certification
(ISC)2 sends invoices and important certification renewal news, in addition to other OFFICIAL communications, exclusively VIA EMAIL. To ensure you receive this critical information, please make any necessary changes to your spam filters, ask your ISP to accept emails from the isc2.org domain, or provide (ISC)2 with an email account that has no such restrictions.
Please review your Account Profile to confirm that (ISC)2 has your current contact information. For assistance with Website issues or other concerns, please visit www.isc2.org/contactus.
It is very important that you continue to update your contact information (email address, phone numbers, mailing addresses, etc.) in your (ISC)2 record via the Account Profile page on the (ISC)2 Member Website as it changes in order to maintain your credential and receive critical information about your certification(s).
(ISC)2 "OFFICIAL" Communications
Email communications from (ISC)2 labeled "OFFICIAL" convey important information regarding your credential status (e.g., occasions to earn CPEs), opportunities to influence (ISC)2's direction (e.g., board member elections and bylaws information), and updates on initiatives (ISC)2 has instituted to support your career and advance the profession (e.g., surveys such as the Global Information Security Workforce Study, campaigns, etc.) For more information on our Member Communications policy, please visit www.isc2.org/official-communications.
(ISC)2 distinguishes these messages as OFFICIAL communication to differentiate them from marketing or promotional messages. And because this information is directly related to your (ISC)2 credential and membership, we do not allow you to opt out of these OFFICIAL messages.
Again, congratulations on becoming a CISSP! You are now part of an elite network of professionals recognized around the world, an achievement you can be proud of. We're pleased to have you as a member and look forward to supporting you throughout your certification and career.
Best regards,
On behalf of the (ISC)2 Board of Directors,
Patricia A. Myers, CISSP-ISSMP, Chairperson
