Dear YoungJin Kim, CISSP

This email is intended to be a friendly reminder that you are required to earn a minimum number of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits each certification year to maintain your certification “in good standing”.

Earning CPE credits helps ensure that you remain competitive and keep up with the constantly expanding body of knowledge in your field. By growing and enhancing your skills through CPE activities, you are making an important investment in yourself and your career - and increasing your value to your customers and employer.

The minimum number of CPE credits required annually varies, depending on the type of certification you hold. For an overview of the CPE requirements for each certification, log in at members.isc2.org then look for “What Are CPEs” under the “CPEs” menu at the top.

Answers to most of your questions regarding how to count CPE credits can be found in the current CPE guidelines. The CPE guidelines are also available on the member website at members.isc2.org/cpe-policies.

To submit your CPEs, log in at members.isc2.org then click the “Submit CPEs” button.

While you are logged in, please take a moment to update your contact information. Select “Edit/Change Profile” under the “My Profile” menu at the top.

You still have plenty of time to satisfy the annual CPE requirement for this certification year. There are a variety of ways to easily earn the required CPE credits, including:

Read an Information Security Book or subscribe to an Information Security Magazine

Each is worth five CPE credits. You are limited to one book and one magazine subscription per year, for a total of 10 CPE credits per year.

Attend Professional Association Chapter Meetings

You will earn one CPE credit for each hour of attendance at a professional association chapter meeting. The qualifying professional association must be related to the domains of your credential.

Participate in Webinars, Seminars, and Pod Casts

Search the Internet for free Webinars, Pod Casts or seminars focusing on security methodology, technology or practices offered by hardware/software sellers and other vendors carrying security-related products. You will earn one CPE credit per hour of participation.

Keep up to date on today’s key industry issues with (ISC)2 e-Symposia
